Introduction

Do you get easily distracted? Get overwhelmed by long lists? Introducing d.one, the to-do list app that only lets you complete one task at a time. The premise is pretty simple: by only showing you the current task at hand, the app forces you to focus on that one task and you can ignore pesky things like “other responsibilities.”

The idea for d.one started as an off-hand comment during a discussion about ways to be more productive. It was a silly concept but it stuck with me. After a round of sketches and a mock-up in Figma, I thought it would be a fun way to dip my toes into mobile development.

Development and Testing

• Although the app was originally designed for iOS, I did not have access to iOS development tools at the time so I switched it to an Android app
• Programmed in Java
• After some user testing, a “snooze” feature was added to better accommodate human nature
